I am excited by the launch of this site, an independent page dedicated to my work as an editor and proofreader!
For years, I have operated by word-of-mouth and recommendations. I have done work primarily for publications in which my writing and artwork have appeared, or for colleagues and their associates. When a new contact asked for my web address, I realized continuing to give my Author Page for writers seeking editing was no longer appropriate. The growing interest in my proofreading and editing services has necessitated a site exclusively for that purpose.
I wanted to share my thoughts as an author and an editor, as well as provide an easy contact form for interested writers. I am also excited to have a location to direct new contacts to read about my qualifications and experience.
I encourage you to also read my Author Bio for more information and for links to my books and other works.
Thank you for your interest.

Writer, Author, Copy-editor, Proofreader
Freelance Proofreader and Editor
Freelance editing and proofreading is not simply a job to me. I enjoy helping writers and authors put their best work forward.
Web content is the face of your company or professional image. I cringe when I am reading copy on a webpage, and I'm distracted from the site's message by the improper use of punctuation or grammar. Keeping web content fresh is necessary, and taking the time to proof and second proof all copy that goes live can be a daunting task. I do my best to work quickly and communicate clearly in an effort to improve the process.
Articles, experience has taught me, require multiple editing passes from several pairs of eyes. Even shorter pieces, which are often only given a cursory once-over, should be thoroughly edited if for no other reason than to prevent embarrassing typos. A serious magazine or paper can quickly become a mockery if too many errors pass through the cracks. I strive to help writers and publishers keep their copy clean, professional, and free of credibility-damaging mistakes.
Fiction and Science Fiction are always a pleasure to edit, but they can be tricky. It is important to choose an editor that understands the stylistic differences between Non-Fiction, Creative Non-Fiction, and the various Fiction sub-genres. Being well-read across the board is important, and I pride myself on the broad spectrum of my reading interests. This is one of the habits that has made me so adept at discerning acceptable style-based deviations from grammar law. It can be difficult sometimes to choose between what is correct and what reads better on the page. Having a seasoned editor to look at your work, especially if you are and Indy Publisher, is crucial. It is a great source of pride that I can offer this service to authors of all genres, styles, and experience levels.
